The South Tampa Chamber of Commerce and the Committee for the 19th Annual Fall Golf Classic presented by Caldeco and ZapCap selected Fulfill Your Destiny as their beneficiary charity. The money raised at this year’s event has allowed Fulfill Your Destiny to start a new initiative, partnering with Wheels of Success, presenting $100 Gas Gift Cards to Veterans receiving vehicles through the Vehicles for Veterans Program. At least 20 local Veterans will receive assistance.

The first recipient, Rebecca O. received hers on Veteran’s Day when four Community Partners joined forces and presented a Car to a Local U.S. Navy Veteran through the Wheels of Success’ Vehicles for Veterans Program. Wheels of Success teamed up with DAV Charitable Services Trust, Powerstories Theatre, and Fulfill Your Destiny to honor Rebecca O.

A generous vehicle donor turned over her 2002 Audi A4 to the Wheels of Success’ Vehicles for Veterans Program and the DAV Charitable Service Trust funded repairs to make it roadworthy.

Karen-Mertes-South-Tampa-Chamber-checkWheels of Success, a Tampa Bay nonprofit organization that provides transportation solutions to local families so that they can maintain their employment, handed over the keys to the charity’s recent recipient at Powerstories Theatre‘s presentation of “Decision Height” a story about friendship and the role of women in wartime.  The keys to success along with a $100 Gas Gift Card were personally handed to our veteran by Karen Mertes, Lt Col (Ret), USAF, Founder and President of Fulfill Your Destiny, Inc.

Rebecca O. is single mother of two young boys and a U.S. Navy veteran.  After moving to the Tampa Bay area to escape an abusive relationship, Rebecca O. found full-time employment with Walt Disney, as she describes “a happy place to work”.  Though Rebecca O. could take the bus to work, her late hours left her stranded with no way to return home.  The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay referred her to Wheels of Success in hopes of finding a transportation solution because being able get to and from work – at any hour – is vital to keeping working families on the road to success.

Fulfill Your Destiny is helping these Veteran Vehicle Recipients stay on the road and working by presenting each one with a $100 Gas Card (View Thank You Note).
