On September 18, 2021 Fulfill Your Destiny awarded another $1,000 Business Builder Grant to Chris Angilella of Chris and the Able Universe at the 7th Annual On Point Book Fair.
Chris’s journey into business began back in August of 2020, when he first published his book, Dotty’s Freckles. As an adult living with Asperger’s syndrome, a type of high functioning Autism, Chriswanted to highlight the differences among all of us, and how to be accepting of these differences. In his own words, one of the biggest obstacles he has faced as an adult living with Autism, is that he is expected to act maturely due to his age of 22, while mentally he is still very child-like. Even still, with the help of his family, and his mother’s constant motto of “It takes a Village”, Chris has persevered in his goal of becoming an advocate of Autism Awareness. His company was officially created in June of 2021 when his college hosted a Meet the Author book signing for him, and he was invited to additional events to speak and spread his message. Chris is very proud of the impact that he makes within the community, and humbled by those who have told him that they can relate to his own story. Chris’s goal is to expand on his activism, continuously shining light on the many ways a person with disabilities is unique. We are thrilled to award this grant to Chris and the Able Universe. With this grant, Chris hopes to expand his message with the purchase of stuffed animals, which he has researched and found that they provide a sense of comfort and safety to both children and adults. We wish you much success in fulfilling your destiny!
