“Thanks to Fulfill Your Destiny for believing in us and helping us take our business to the next level. We will never forget your support,” shared Tracy Weston of HydroShield.
“Our goal is to be able to hire our first full time employee. Bringing on an employee will require additional equipment and this grant will allow us to buy equipment to realize this dream.”
Stephen and Tracy Weston, owners of HydroShield of Tampa Bay, have been married for almost thirty years and have three children.
Prior to being small business owners, Tracy and Stephen enjoyed family life with their children while both worked jobs in corporate America. Yet, they had always dreamed of having their own family business.
Their dream began to materialize in 2014 when Stephen left his corporate job to start their own business, HydroShield of Tampa Bay. They couldn’t have predicted that soon thereafter, Tracy became legally blind and had to leave her corporate job.
“When my husband left his corporate job of 22 years to start our own business, I was working as a CFO,” explained Tracy. “We had planned to have my income to start the business. Then I lost my job after becoming legally blind. Financially this was very hard on our family. I was also told that I would not be able to work again and would have to have others take care of me. I never accepted this. We pulled together as a family and after many years of sacrifice and hard work, my husband and I now operate and own two successful businesses.”
“One of our greatest joys as business owners is the chance to be a testimony to our children and others that when a family works together, you can be greater than the challenges before you,” said Tracy.
As franchise owners for HydroShield, the business provides protective sealants for surfaces such as granite, glass, tile and all-natural stones. A year after HydroShield opened, a need for restoration work ignited the idea for the couple to open a sister company, HydroGlow Cleaning and Floor Care.
Even though their companies are small, the couple makes it a priority to give back, donating to the Children’s Cancer Society through the Chick-fil-A 5K Walk. Their team walks every September to help fight children’s cancer.
“We both have a passion for helping others and paying blessings forward as we have been blessed. We learned that although circumstances may change, God has a definite plan for each of us. We believe that it was meant to be that my husband and I work together to demonstrate this for our children.”
